Student of the week - Azile

This term we have been lucky enough to be joined by Azile. We have loved having her as a part of our class, and it has been wonderful to see her working hard on her spelling and reading. We are really sad that her time in our class has come to an end, so we wish her well as she returns home to her classmates and teachers. Good-bye Azile.

Waitahuna swimming carnival

I went to the Waitahuna swimming carnival last week.  We went to the pool at the Waitahuna school. We played the egg and spoon race. When we got in the pool, it was cold. We had a freestyle race. I always came third. We had a race kicking down the pool with a board. We jumped over the noodles and raced from one side to the other like we were riding horses. That was a fun race.

Athletics day

On athletics day we did heaps of different sports. We did long jump, high jump, distance running, shot put, discus, sprints, obstacle course and nerf throw. I really liked doing all of the sports.

This term we have been learning to swim. I am learning to roll onto my side to breathe. I also have to kick hard with straight legs. 

I love swimming.
